Young Learners Cambridge English Exams
Cambridge English: Young Learners is a series of fun and engaging activity-based English language tests. They introduce primary and lower-secondary level students to everyday written and spoken English, and are an excellent way to gain confidence and improve their English.
The tests are created for children and use topics they are familiar with. All of our exams cover the four language skills: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. Students are encouraged to move through the three levels: Starters, Movers and Flyers.
With Cambridge English: Young Learners, teachers can motivate their students to learn English, and parents can see the progress and achievements made.
Here at BISB we offer a preparation course for this exam for beginners of English, who arrive in our school early in the year. We believe that children should not start learning two foreign languages at the same time. Therefore, for all beginners of English we offer this exam preparation course instead of French or German (MFL). This is 1 to 2 hours a week depending on the year group. The children have an option to take or not to take the exam at the end of the year. The exam costs approximately 60 euros, but the English preparation course is free.
Here you can find some more detailed information about the exam.
